Employee of the Month: Men's Director Susan Kaleta

Congratulations to our Men's Director at our Page Parkes office in Dallas for being the EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH! We caught up with her as she was meeting prospective new guys to add to the board and fielding calls from clients clamoring for her sought after men.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AT PPM?
I started working with Page Parkes Management in 1989 in the Miami office. The Miami office had just opened and I was the receptionist for 2 weeks, then became a booking agent. I worked in Miami for 2 ½ yrs and couldn’t wait to get back to Texas. I came to Dallas in 1991. Page & I were friends before I started working for her in Miami and luckily she hired me because she needed someone she could trust in Miami.

ANY FAVORITE MEMORIES OF PAGE?
Page is such an amazing person. There would be no Page Parkes Management if it wasn’t for Page. Traveling with her to London, Paris & New York is always so much fun and have been memorable experiences. From going to the Men’s Shows to dining at amazing restaurants, hanging out with Page is something I cherish. She is very well know all over the world and also very much liked and respected and what some people don’t know is how funny she is.

ANY FAVORITE MEMORIES OF FORMER PPM MODELS? Having dinner at Sushi on McKinney with Angelina Jolie in Dallas, just the two of us...I think she was 17 and JC Penney had booked her for a shoot and she flew into Dallas for it. Also being 12th row center at a concert with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Beck the sitting on the speackers while Jeff played with Stevie and watching him go on for the encore in Miami. He was dating our model Jana lapidus. He came to my apartment the next morning and we had coffee together! SUCCESS STORIES FROM THE MEN'S BOARD SINCE YOU HAVE WORKED AT PPM?
We started the career of male supermodel Tyson Ballou, he was just a teenager when he started with us and is from Garland, Texas. Other successful male models include Bradly Tomberlin, Stuart Ridnour, Caine Cambron have all been with us since they were teenagers also - and they are all in their 30’s now and married!!! Shemar Moore spent a summer in Dallas working for local clients before making it onto "The Young & the Restless" then on to "Criminal Minds". I have worked with Josh Holloway and of course Channing Tatum as well, who still gives us shout outs for helping start his career.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO PROSPECTIVE TALENT WHO WANT TO MAKE IT?
Listen to your Agent! Most of us have been doing this for a very long time. Let the agent pick your photos! Also, be patient. Overnight success doesn’t happen very often.

SO THE NEW SCHOOL IN DALLAS FOR ACTING AND MODELING?
we are soooo excited about our school opening in Dallas! The agency will benefit tremendously from all the development that will go on with the school. We're excited to be working with and nurturing up and coming talent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area - and beyond! Just as the success of our Houston office, we are sure to churn out some amazing Texas talent.

IF YOU WEREN'T AN AGENT, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
Teaching yoga and giving massages!

How old is Phil Macaulay? He is so versatile. I've seen him in many different ads, I don't know if they are ads from years ago, or current. He looks like your average guy next door, which makes his look appealing and makes him a great model. He has a roughness and yet a trusting look at the same time.
