Jennifer Box gives a report from Tokyo

Our hot model Michelle Box isn't the only one making waves in the fashion industry. Her sprite little sister Jennifer Box recently made the big jump across the ocean to Tokyo! She's been working so steadily that she can't make it home to Dallas for Christmas.



Here's an update from our little star!

Favorite thing about living in Tokyo?
"Being able to go 20 feet from my apartment and get amazing sushi. They sell sushi in all the convenience stores. It's pretty sweet. I love shopping in Harajuku. On Sundays all these girls dress up in these insane harajuku girl outfits and walk around."

How do you get to castings when you don't speak the language?
"All the agencys have drivers that drive us around to all our castings and go in with us and talk to the clients for us because very few of the models here speak any Japanese."

Favorite modeling job so far?
"I've done this bridal job twice, where they hire girls to sell wedding accessories and try to get people to want to rent out the place the job is at for their weddings. They have all the girls do 2 runways shows in front of potential buyers, and they pick one girl each time (they picked me both times i did the job) to get "married" in the chapel twice in front of the potential buyers. They go through this ceremony and they sings hymns and say prayers and vows. It's this whole weird elaborate fake marraige, but it's a lot of fun. So i've gotten "married" four times in Japan!"

Favorite Japanese adventure?
"Our manager took us to Mount Fuji one day. It was amazing, but also freezing. But theres a really cool temple with a wishing box and statues of Buddah there on the mountain. We went in the temple and these was a old japanese man with a big decorative wooden stick with bells on it. And everyone took turns walking up to him, and you stand with your back facing him, and he gently hits you over and over and over again on the back with the stick while yelling this crazy Japanese chant and he blesses each person. I know it sounds completely ridiculous but I have the picture to prove it (SEE BELOW!)"

Besides your family, what do you miss about Dallas?
"I miss real Mexican food in Dallas. I've been to three Mexican restaurants in Tokyo and it's all wannabe Mexican food!"

This 30-year-old model/actor has been with our agency since 2005 and steadily working in LA. His latest Old Navy commercial is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S, riffing off of retro '80s hit I want candy. It's been on HEAVY rotation all over TV for the holidays.

Leigha Ellis to star in Mary Kay commercial

Blond beauty Leigha Ellis may be from Tyler, Texas, but she recently booked a Mary Kay commercial based on her European exotic looks! Casting directors wanted a "Russian-looking" girl and they chose Leigha for the commercial. It will air in both American and Russian markets.

Way to go girl!

Michelle Box snags F!D LUXE cover

Pick up an issue around Dallas! Michelle Box (who signed with STORM in London last year) has been on the go-go-go traveling around the world working runways and shooting editorials. She stopped in Dallas to shoot the new Dec. cover of the Dallas Morning News fashion mag, F!D LUXE, wearing a dramatic black Derek Lam gown! She also sported a gorgeous blood-red Rodarte dress in the shoot, inspired by Edward Scissorhands. The shoot was styled by creative director Tammy Theis and shot by photographer Richard Krall who used to assist Guy Bourdin. So gothic romantic!!!

New face: Lindsey Phenix

Here's one of our bright new discoveries! LINDSEY Phenix is our 19 year old red headed siren! Her half-American and half-Mexican background had photographer Jamie Luca excited, calling her a cross between Americana and Shakira! Here's her latest test shots from photographer Arthur Garcia.

Luckily we snatched her up when we spied her at Pro Scout in Dallas a few months ago. And of course, with that gorg face, she's already had her first major booking in Texas. Her beauty spread for D Magazine should be out any day now!

Look for them on television soon! From our talent board: Mariah Bernal and Dulce Rosales have only been signed with us a year and both just booked a national SAG Nike Commercial. Mariah is one of our brightest little stars and Dulce is used to
being on camera -- she was formerly a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader!

Morgan Thompson signs with ONE!

Our new faces board is BOOMING! One of our freshest faces, MORGAN THOMPSON, hails from Mineda (somewhere in East Texas) and has been steadily working in Dallas! SCORE! The 16-year-old also recently signed with ONE Model Management in New York. Here's her latest test with Dallas' Steve Visneau. What a baby-faced stunner!!!

Canadian beauty Jen Araki is coming to town Jan!

One of our hot faces on our women's board is 23-year-old JEN ARAKI. The super busy Canadian model and actress has got the perfect looks -- a pristine combo mix of half American and half Japanese genes. Shining star: Page alum Shantel VanSanten takes off in Hollywood

Shantel VanSanten is one of those successful rare birds that we try to groom here at Page Parkes -- wearing both hats as model and actress. Lucky for us, she's succeeded at both and we have no doubt will skyrocket into the Hollywood A-list any day now. Catch her in her first big role opposite MISCHA BARTON in Roland Jaffe's (The Killing Fields, The Mission) YOU AND I, which premieres in March 2009. She graciously took time out of her busy schedule to chat briefly with us about her love of Texas BBQ and her big screen kiss with Mischa!

FAVORITE MEMORIES OF WORKING FOR PAGE PARKES. HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?
I started modeling when I was 15 years old and was blessed to have had such a successful career at such a young age. I worked for many local companies doing catalog work with clients like Foley's, Academy, and Dillard’s. I also shot national campaigns, appeared on billboards, in newspapers and was featured in nationally syndicated magazines like Teen Vogue, Seventeen, etc. I attended Agent Review, which brought in agents from around the world, and this was where the acting world was first presented to me. I had always been in theatre and had a love for being on stage just never knew it was a reality. When I moved to Dallas to attend college, I enrolled in acting classes and realized it was my passion. I started auditioning for movies and pilots in LA through Page Parkes in Dallas. In 2005, I booked a show for NBC and Sports Illustrated. An agent in LA took notice and persuaded me and to make the move. In LA, I continued to model and shoot campaigns for Clean & Clear, Abercrombie & Fitch, Christian Audigier/ Ed Hardy, and more. This helped pay the bills and kept me in acting classes while I was auditioning. I have amazing representation in LA who work hard on getting me amazing auditions and help develop a career path which best suits me. They are an essential part of my career and I couldn’t have done it without everyone from Page Parkes in Houston/Dallas, and my manager and agent in LA.


WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT TEXAS?
I have been living in LA since 2006, but I try to come back as often as possible because it keeps me grounded. I miss Texas terribly -- it's where my family and heart lie. Plus a girl has to get some good Mexican food and BBQ sometimes!

HOW WAS FILMING "YOU AND I" AND WORKING WITH MISCHA BARTON?
This was my first leading role in a major motion picture. It was a dream come true and such a surreal moment in my life. To work with Roland Joffee, who is a world renowned director, was incredible and something many actors dream of. He changed my life and gave me a chance to shine because he believed in me. Also to live in Moscow for 4 months was an experience no vacation could ever allow you. Working with Mischa Barton was a pleasure. We both gained so much from working one another. As far as the content of the movie goes our characters ARE two girls who fall in love with each other and become romantically involved. They have their fair share of tests and trials but the movie is about choices and consequences and love. This movie makes a bold statement about homosexuality without apologies. When it comes to any kissing/ sex scenes…well it’s called acting for a reason! When you see the movie you will understand their relationship is based on love.

WHAT'S NEXT ON YOUR PLATE?
I just finished shooting an independent called “In My Pocket” which was directed by David Johnson and I co-stared with an amazing actor, Gregory Smith. I am so proud of the film and we will be submitting it to all the festivals including Sundance. Earlier this year I shot Final Destination 4 which I will be starring in. It will be released later on next year and in 3D. My co-stars were so much fun and the movie required us all to do so many stunts and have fun make-up effects. I know the next question is do I live??? Well you will all have to watch and find out. I am currently shooting a guest star episode for CSI- NY as well. This is what I live for...it’s a great adventure and I hope it’s only the beginning of a life long career for me. Thanks to everyone, especially my support system in Texas, who has ever believed in and supported me!
